More Projects.....What Else is New?

I've been a little busy.  Don't even ask doing what.  I don't know.  I just know that time slips away something terrible when I want to get things done in the sewing/craft room, and I don't have a lot to show for it...However, updates on the One Block Wonder...It now has borders on it.  See??

I'm pretty happy with it.  The pink binding has a bit of a shine to it, sort of like Fairy Frost.  I don't remember what it is, sorry.  I bought it at Caroline's Sewing Room inWest Branch, Michigan.

Next up is a panel that I purchased a little while back at Ye Olde Fabric Shoppe in Stratford Ontario.  I really like cardinals, and couldn't pass this one up.  I haven't quilted it yet, because I'm waiting to see if I learn any new techniques at Sulky School .  My best friend and I are venturing across the border to Novi Michigan to see what there is to learn.  I think it will be a lot of fun.  New techniques are great and keep your mind fresh.  Unfortunately, classes also generate UFO's.  I'm hoping this isn't the case with this one.

Here's the panel.

I think this panel calls for thread painting and since I'm not too sure how to do that free-hand, I'm waiting for a bit of instruction.

There, that's what's been happening in the sewingroom.

I love those hexagons and wonder what the fabric looked like to begin with. You got an interesting effect.
I always say "never again!" after making a hexagon quilt but.... they keep coming back to haunt you.
